Google has announced the release of Google Message Continuity on the Google Enterprise Blog.
Google Message Continuity is a disaster recovery or business continuity service which ensures that users of Outlook and Microsoft® Exchange can continue to read and send emails via a web browser during an outage of their company's mail server or during a disaster.
Ancoris will be offering full deployment services for Google Message Continuity to companies in the UK and Ireland following the release. This new service offering extends the email management services available from Google for Microsoft Exchange users. The Google Postini Services already include spam, virus and content filtering (Google Message Security), email archiving and e-discovery (Google Message Discovery) and email encryption (Google Message Encryption).
The price point for the new service offers unparalleled affordability for an email continuity service. Google can take advantage of the economies of scale offered by their existing Google Apps for Business and Google Postini Services which are combined to provide the continuity offering, other continuity providers have needed to develop a dedicated platform. Google Message Continuity is priced at only £6.50 per user per year for existing Google Postini users or £12.50 per user for new customers taking Google Message Security and Google Message Continuity together.
