We are seeking dynamic individuals who are passionate about data to join our fast-growing Data Analytics consulting practice. You will join a talented team of enterprise data specialists, analysts and engineers who share a passion for helping clients unlock value in their data and deliver insights that matter.

As a Google Premier Partner, we work closely with Google to help clients leverage the awesome power of the Google Cloud Platform; from Enterprise Data Warehouses on Google BigQuery, to cutting-edge machine learning solutions using BigQuery ML, AutoML and Tensorflow. We partner with a number of key strategic vendors, including Looker for advanced data visualisations, dbt for SQL based transformations, and Fivetran for rapid data ingestion.

As a Google Cloud Data Engineer, you will work across the full data delivery spectrum; building streaming and batch pipelines using technologies such as Cloud Dataflow and Cloud Composer, developing analytics pipelines in dbt, and an opportunity to also work in visualisation tools such as as Looker and with ML too, depending on your appetite to explore these fields.

How you will spend your time

Core responsibilities

Data Engineering

  • Building robust data pipelines to stream and batch data from a variety of different sources, including third party APIs, relational databases, and IoT devices.
  • 90% of the time the target is BigQuery, however this may also involve Cloud SQL, Cloud BigTable or Cloud Spanner.
  • Using the latest data engineering technologies including Google Dataflow (Apache Beam), Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), and Cloud Functions.
  • Engineering custom connectors in Fivetran (Cloud Functions).
  • Building advanced SQL data pipelines to clean, transform and present data in BigQuery using dbt (data build tool).
  • Producing pipelines that scale, simple to maintain, and fit with our modern analytics architecture.
  • Working closely with clients from a broad range of industries to deliver best in class data analytics platforms.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Data Analytics

  • Data modelling at-scale using Kimball dimensional modelling.
  • Identifying key data insights (both predictive and reactive) that will help businesses unlock value.

ML Engineering

  • Building training and prediction pipelines for ML models, using technologies including Cloud Dataflow, Kubeflow and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Docker (or similar) and CI/CD (ML ops) best practices an advantage.


  • Minimum 3 years experience as a data/ML engineer.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in Computer Science or a Mathematics/Engineering related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience using Cloud Dataflow, Python, and Cloud Composer (advantageous), to build best-in-class data pipelines.
  • ML engineering in tools such as Kubeflow a bonus.
  • Working with large datasets, and streaming pipelines.
  • Strong SQL and Java/Python skills.
  • Any experience with BigQuery, dbt, highly advantageous.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; can articulate complex concepts to a varied audience; comfortable in a client facing role.

  • Flexible to work anytime as customer needs require.
  • Willing to travel on a frequent basis in the UK.
