Cloud Infrastructure Consultant

You will be a senior consultant in the Services organisation reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure and Managed Services as part of a new technical delivery team for public cloud migration and managed services. The services organisation is a key interface to our customers and prospects, working closely with the sales team and our business partner Google to support the overall sales and delivery efforts.

How you will spend your time:

  • Meet with our customers and prospects and support our sales teams in understanding client challenges, relate their business and technology strategy to our capabilities and act as a bridge between sales and services operations
  • Design, hands on deployment and hand over to support, of GCP infrastructure solutions meeting customer requirements ranging from “lift and shift” to “new builds”
  • Identify opportunities for “new build” and “lift and shift” of on-premise or other cloud hosted environments into the Google Cloud, and work with the sales account team to win and then execute on these opportunities
  • Act as one of the standard bearers for Google based infrastructure transformation within customer base, providing vision, influence and energy regarding new opportunities to use Google technology and Ancoris skills
  • Understand and influence key customer objectives and desired outcomes related to GCP infrastructure, and build and execute plans to ensure those outcomes are achieved
  • Deploy, and work with other teams to ensure delivery capability of, an ongoing managed service for infrastructure customers to allow Ancoris to deliver ongoing services and revenue streams
  • Input into the development of new cloud computing service offerings
  • Develop deep beneficial relationships as a trusted advisor with key players in Ancoris’ customers and within Google
  • Monitor customer feedback and represent customer needs to feed into Ancoris management discussion and organisational development plans

You will be successful if are:

  • An experienced infrastructure consultant, capable of designing and delivering complex cloud based infrastructure projects as part of a world class public cloud infrastructure services team
  • Passionate about public cloud services, with a demonstrated ability to architect cloud solutions based on Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, App Engine, BigQuery etc.), Amazon Web services or Azure
  • Naturally organised, with determination to deliver excellence and attention to detail and to design and implement reliable and high quality client solutions
  • Able to influence and drive IT projects and manage project scope and budget
  • Able to challenge customer thinking and develop new ways of working to bring thought leadership, innovation and value as a trusted voice across the Ancoris customer base
  • An excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively

You will thrive if you have:

  • Experience in the delivery of infrastructure operations, migration services, cloud hosting or managed services
  • Commercial bid management, service delivery or managed service experience
  • A strong technical grounding, up to date with the state and trends within public cloud, virtualisation and technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, VMWare, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Hybrid cloud etc.
  • An understanding of application development and application release management, particularly CI/CD tooling and systems
  • Proficient understanding, with hands on experience, of application architecture, IT Infrastructure, IT Service Management, Security and other key end to end delivery dependencies
  • A thirst for knowledge and a desire to continuously learn, improve and understand the technology driving the industry and how it can unlock value for our customers
  • More than 5 years track record of architecting, sales support, and delivery success in an established technology organisation, either in professional services, consulting, product development, or corporate IT
  • BSc/BA degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business related discipline
