Are you a Technical Support Engineer, Software Test Engineer or someone interested in a career in Software Quality Assurance? We seek someone to join the Ancoris Development team in the capacity of Dev Support Engineer in order to support the development and delivery of our cloud based applications, whilst learning the craft of software testing.
This is a diverse, challenging role with responsibilities spanning both product support and testing. Additionally, this role also provide application testing services to Appogee HR Limited, a SaaS HR business we work closely with. Our friendly team supports and nurtures a diverse range of skills and ours is a place to work better, together. Our ideal candidate doesn’t like to shy away from challenges, yet likes to tuck into the occasional doughnut with us!
Candidate Profile
General
- Detail focussed – software quality is fundamentally affected by attention to detail in the QA process
- Effective time management skills – The role is split between two companies and as such, careful management of commitments across both organisations is required
- An understanding that software development is a “team sport” with the desire to work in a truly cross-functional environment
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
Technical Competencies
Must
- Basic domain knowledge of web application architectures (eg. tiered architectures, HTML, Javascript, APIs)
- Software testing
- Gathering test requirements through collaboration with Software Developers
- Creating test plans
- Executing tests
- Product Support
- Handling tier 2/3 support requests, including debugging
- Providing post sales support to customers
- Writing product documentation
- Desire to automate
- Automation of test and operations is a key part of modern software engineering
Desirable
- Experience with test automation technologies
- Some exposure to programming at a basic level
- Knowledge of agile development principles and practices
