Develop new digital business models

Develop new digital models with Google Cloud

Our customers come in all sorts of shapes and size and so do their digital models.  Here are a few examples of our most recent work to give you a flavour of what we can achieve with Google Cloud Platform, Google Maps, Chrome and Android.

Mobile workforce management

Our client employs over 100 mobile technicians, who were using a paper for data collection and manual process for allocating jobs and data-entry post collection in to their legacy systems. The existing process was slow and costly as it was manually intensive and prone to data-entry errors. The job allocation for the technicians had no intelligence into availability or distance to job, resulting in excessive mileage and expense costs. Our development team used Google App Engine , Google Maps Platform and Cloud Data Storage to create a web-based collection booking system for the head-office which communicated directly with an Android application for the technicians job allocation and  data entry.

Business impact

  • Connect and communicate with dispersed worker
  • Improve health & safety
  • Access information and manage tasks
  • Simplify routing to jobs using Google Maps and reduce travel costs
  • Improve staff efficiency
  • Reduce data-entry headcount, printing and stationery costs
  • Improve data quality
  • Improve customer satisfaction

Mobile data capture

Across the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, each of the 60 school kitchen manager filled many forms for essential compliance data. Meanwhile, the three catering service area managers needed to collect, review and analyse this paper-based data in order to identify issues and take quick action. As kitchen staff had little experience with computers and the data needed to be recorded ‘on the spot’, the solution had to be both simple and portable.

Business impact

  • Increase data accuracy with real time updates
  • Remove paper inefficiency and costs
  • Create an inclusive digital culture
  • Improve management visibility
  • Reduce costs with simple Android device and intuitive Google Forms based interface

Single use kiosks

Suffolk Libraries found that whilst demand for public access computers was increasing as a result of the government’s digital strategy, the computers were in urgent need of replacement. All this, at a time of budget constraints.  As well as supplying Chrome devices, Ancoris developed a Chromebook Access Management System (CAMS) which integrates the Chromebooks with the existing library management system, to control who can log on and how long they can stay online.

Business impact

  • Increase speed and ease of deployment
  • Centrally managed with simple, web-based controls (over 200 policies)
  • Built in security – cloud-based profiles make it easy for users to share a device safely while data is kept separate for each account.
  • Affordable devices come in a range of form factors
  • Improve user experience with fast log in and ease of use of Chrome devices

We have also deployed Chrome devices as employee kiosks for training and HR purposes as well as in retail stores to access web-based apps and conduct back-office functions.  This technology can also be used as customer kiosks.
