Google has added a number of exciting options and features in Google Sites, to help you to create sites quickly and easily, as well as making updates to the Calendar and all Google Docs editors.
You can use section layouts in Google Sites to set the position of text, images and other items on the page. There are 6 different layouts that can be used and once they have been added to a page, you can add content to each placeholder in the layout as required.

You can now add buttons to a site page to quickly add a link to another page or website. When you add a button to a site, it will automatically match the theme of your site, and can be resized as required.

Since new Sites were introduced in G Suite, it has been possible to add Google Forms to a page. With this update, however, they will now fit better with the theme of your site, and will show without the large header, taking up less space in the section you have added them to.
Forms are added via the Forms button on the Insert pane.
If you are using the new Gmail interface, you will no longer be able to view contacts using the Mail drop-down list. Instead, view your contacts using the App launcher button, and choose Contacts.
Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Slides
As in the new Gmail interface, Docs and Calendar now have a side-panel that provides quick access to your calendar, tasks and Google Keep.
